Pamela Schermann is a London-based theatre and opera director.
She currently works as artistic director for Opera in the City Festival, London's new opera festival at Bridewell Theatre. This summer, she directed new productions of Zemlinsky's opera A Florentine Tragedy and Mascagni's Zanetto. She regularly works with the Rose Playhouse, Bankside - London's most historic theatre - where she directed acclaimed contemporary interpretations of The Taming of the Shrew and Othello alongside the opera Orpheus and Eurydice and the in-house productions Iphigenia in Tauris, The Eve of St Agnes and Rendezvous at Midnight. 

Other works include Rimsky-Korsakov's opera Mozart & Salieri (Arcola Theatre -Finalist Off West End-Award 'Best Opera Production' and UK/Denmark Tour), Lady Windermere's Fan (Uk/Ireland Tour), Abe & Hans (Theatre503), Shoot, I didn't mean that / The Last Days of Mankind (Tristan Bates Theatre), and New Writing Events at Southwark Playhouse and the Arts Theatre West End. 

International works include Othello at Theaterlab in New York City, La Traviata in Austria and various works for State Opera Stuttgart, Germany. 

Her work has been supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum and Arts Council England.
